Happy Halloween with Ghoulish Goodies

This week I asked my Facebook followers to let me know which stamp set they liked better for a Halloween greeting, and Ghoulish Goodies was the overwhelmingly more popular of the two.

The adorable kitty on this set did seem to be the stamp that pushed people over the top, and it's justified! 

It's also a great set to make a 5x5 frame to be displayed for the season. With a little bit of embossing (both heat and texture), and some fussy cutting, this masterpiece comes together quite nicely!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop: Playful Pets Designer Series Paper

Hello and Welcome to our October Paper Crafting Blog Hop, showcasing our fabulous Designer Series Paper. Our group of Global Demonstrators are hopping ‘round the world to bring you inspiration using our Designer Series Paper and coordinating products. 

If you have just joined me from Krissi's blog or as one of my followers, I’m so happy you stopped by!

For my project, I’ve used the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. I love how this paper is both versatile enough to use as a background (love those fine stripes!) and also has cats and dogs that match up perfectly with the dies to let you cut them out as they are (so no colouring is required)!

I also used the silver side of a sheet of the Feels Like Frost specialty Designer Series Paper. These papers are so gorgeous!

And of course I had to add some of the scalloped lace trim as it's just so elegant and really finishes the look. I haven't added a greeting quite yet as I'm not sure who I will be sending this card to. I have a couple people who just adopted some puppies that I think this might be destined for.

The leaves from the Nature's Roots dies work perfectly here for some added embellishment (and seasonal feel), especially with the embossing. It's the perfect dimension to add in some interest.

Wow. It's been quite some time since I've posted! Sorry 'bout that!

I made the taco patterned paper by stamping the taco shells over and over (and then just gave them a touch of colour with an Aqua Painter).

Blackberry Bliss Ornament

I love the simplicity of this one too. The colours of the Blackberry Bliss are a little skewed in this photo, but it is so rich that even though it's not a traditional Christmas colour, it works. I used the 'retired' Ornament Keepsakes bundle, which is now listed on the Clearance Rack! Granted, you can't get it as a bundle anymore, but the Framelits (and wood mount) stamps are available again :)

Photo Inspiration - FMS163

 You know you're a stamper when …  Earlier this week, I had snapped a photo of a very pretty wintry sunrise and it made me think almost immediately of Lovely As a Tree. I wondered if I'd be able to recreate the landscape with ink. I had fun with post-it notes and sponging and think I came pretty close!

Of course, I did use a sketch to help me put it together. I used this week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch - and here's the sunrise photo too :)
