The View from Outdoors - MojoMonday427

It's been forever and a day since I've done a sketch challenge, so I thought I'd try one today .. and I was inspired to use my new Hearth and Home Framelits. I was stumped a little as I wanted to use the Brick Wall embossing folder, but that meant that we were looking *in* the window, and not *out*. Completely changed the vision I had initially, but I ran with it :)

Clicking on the sketch on the right will take you to the MojoMonday challenge page. Note that most of the stamps I used are retired: Scentsational Season and A Cute Christmas. It's pretty hard to see the detail on the window sill, but I also used a 'Sneak Peek' stamp set from the upcoming Occasions catalogue: Happy Home. This set has a lot of spring images that will work well with the window frame!

You Are Amazingly Amazing - MOJO386

I've been wanting to get into my craft room recently, but it's been a surprisingly busy winter so far. I did manage to squeeze in some time over the past couple days, so I've finally got a new card to show you.

I played along with MojoMonday again - this was the first time I've tried their Tall & Skinny challenge though. It was definitely worth stretching the creativity :)

I love the look of the ruffled seam-binding ribbon - it's got to be my favourite way to use that ribbon. I adhere it place with Sticky Strip, so I know it'll hold.

Best Day Ever - MOJO383

I wanted to play along with MojoMonday again this week, and thought that it would be fun to use the 'Best Day Ever' SAB stamp set, since we had a super fun time playing in the snow yesterday.

Best Day Ever

Here's the sketch for this week:

I also did the draw for the prize for the Stamp-a-Stack survey entries - thank you so much for giving me your feedback! By an overwhelming majority, the date is set at April 25! Shara is the winner of the door prize - congrats Shara!

Sale-A-Bration Lemon - MOJO379

Yay! It's Sale-a-Bration time again! It's Stampin' Up's biggest sale of the year! Check out the new amazing Sale-A-Bration Catalogue and decide which items you'd love to earn for free!! For every $60 spent (before shipping/taxes), you pick one item free! This even includes items purchased from the clearance rack and digital designs!

And, the new Occasions Catalogue is live today too! Almost too many cool things going on ;) I do have a card to show you today - I took the MojoMonday sketch challenge this week and played with one of my new SAB stamp sets. I love this lemon ... reminds me of picking lemons in Florida, just a week ago :D

To make the background, I got out my Stamp-A-Majig and stamped the 'love life' image repeatedly ... it took some patience, but it was well worth it!

And of course, here's the sketch:

Another Ornamental Pine - MOJO375

Another late day post for me … we were out 'enjoying' the hustle and bustle of the season today, ending off with some Christmas tree sales for Scouts. Today's card takes that Christmas tree inspiration (and that of a MojoMonday sketch) and combines them with another pretty card using the Ornamental Pine stamp set.

Even though it's 'fussy cutting', I love the look of cutting out the pinecone and popping it up with a Dimensional. I also used the greeting from the November Paper Pumpkin kit; I love that the stamps can be used beyond the initial kit :)

Ornamental Pine - MOJO372

So it appears another couple weeks have passed without my posting anything. I've been busy working on an advent calendar that I'm planning to show you on December 1st - it's been fun working on it, and maybe I'll show you a sneak peek before December comes!

With the snowy days recently, it's been nice to hole up in my crafting room in the evenings. I've been thinking that I'd re-visit my own challenge from last December where I posted a project/inspiration every day in December leading up to Christmas. Since I've been posting so sporadically recently, it would really be a challenge … think I'm up for it?

While I ponder that, I've played along with the MojoMonday challenge this week. I used my favourite (sadly, retired) embossing folder (Vintage Wallpaper) and inked it up with River Rock ink (also retired) just to give it some dimension. One of the cool discoveries I had was that the smallest bulb in the Ornament Keepsakes fit the bulb from Ornamental Pine perfectly!

Christmas Cheer - Mojo368

This weekend, I spent most of my spare time cutting and prepping for next week's Stamp-a-Stack. I did spend some time making some décor elements and some cards for my display board too. You'll have to wait to see the (totally awesome) trees and the wreath until after the class, but I will share one card with you tonight. It's one I made for the MojoMonday challenge this week.

I was getting in the theme of Christmas (yes, I know it's not even Halloween yet) and was wishing for the red cups at Starbucks. I had first stamped it onto Cherry Cobbler paper, but that didn't do the trick. It just added a little extra depth to the colour when I used the Blendabilities. Mmmm … can't wait for that Gingerbread latte!

I did rotate the sketch so that the coffee cup didn't look out of place.

Shaving Cream - MOJO367

The weather here today was cold and rainy and it was just a nice day to play indoors. That meant crafting for me! I was playing around with a new technique - shaving cream! If you've never done this technique before, I must warn you that it's addictive! I kept making more and more creations ..

I used two of my shaving cream patterned papers to make this card to go along with the MojoMonday sketch challenge. Come back tomorrow for a full tutorial on this technique!
