Happy World Cardmaking Day!!

Today is World Cardmaking Day - a holiday to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection they create as well as to kick-off (and get a head start on) the holiday cardmaking season.  (Unless of course, you're a part of my Christmas Card Club, in which case we started way back in February!!)  Did you know that approximately 1 in 6 households makes handmade cards?

Some ideas for how to to celebrate:

  • Play some Christmas tunes and get in the holiday spirit making some Christmas cards
  • Make cards to cheer up hospital or nursing home patients (check out Kards for Kids for more info on how to donate to the Toronto Sick Kids hospital)
  • Join a card swap (they are addicting!)
  • Get together with friends and exchange ideas, learn a new technique or get crafty
  • Browse the internet for inspiration
  • Enter a contest, such as this one sponsored by Stampin'Up!
  • Shop!
And to leave you with a cute card for your viewing pleasure - hope you're doing something crafty to celebrate today!
